SensBELT — Belt Scale Monitoring

Stop paying for air on your conveyor.

Your belt can't tell 500 tonnes an hour from zero. Your electricity bill can.

The most expensive machine that does nothing

You wouldn't leave your car engine running all night in the car park. Your belt does exactly that, every day.

Without monitoring
  • The belt keeps running after the last truck dumps — nobody notices for 45 minutes, 3–4 times per shift.
  • A 75 kW drive running empty 3 h/day × 320 days × €0.18/kWh = €12,960 a year wasted.
  • Accelerated belt and roller wear: another €21,600 a year.
  • No way to check the belt scale is still accurate without a site visit.
With UCS
  • Empty belt detected automatically — shutdown signal after 5 minutes.
  • Calibration drift tracked continuously — no technician visits needed.
  • Throughput verified from your phone.

A quarry found 847 hours of ghost running a year

A medium-size aggregate quarry, two belt scales feeding a crusher. Operators assumed the belts only ran while trucks were dumping — the control room saw ON/OFF status, not load.

SensBELT found Belt #1 running empty for 2.65 hours a day on average: 847 hours a year and €11,430 of wasted energy — plus 14 months of extra wear, bringing a €38,000 belt replacement forward by 14 months.

The fix: automatic idle shutdown — no load for 5 minutes sends a stop signal to the drive. Ghost running dropped to near zero by week 2.

Running in 2 hours

No belt stoppage, no recalibration. One device, one cable.

01

Connect

One device connects to the indicator's RS-232/485 port. No belt stoppage, no recalibration.

02

Transmit

The UCS X3 gateway sends data over a secure wireless link. Optional extra sensors: temperature, vibration.

03

See

Live throughput, empty-belt detection, calibration-drift alerts and energy analytics — from any device, with automatic alerts and a REST API.

Is your belt scale still accurate?

Your indicator says 342 t/h. But is it? SensBELT checks continuously — so you don't have to send a technician to find out.

01

Zero drift

Does the belt read 0 when it's empty?

02

Span deviation

Is the full-scale reading still correct?

03

Signal noise

Is a load cell starting to degrade?

04

Disconnection & overload

Every event logged and timestamped.

Today's readings are compared with your historical baseline, so you're alerted 4–6 weeks before accuracy drifts out of tolerance — for example: “LC2 will exceed ±0.5% in about 6 weeks. Schedule calibration.”

36 days to full payback

One unnecessary technician visit costs €142; the system runs €59–99 a month. Avoiding a single wasted trip pays for it — everything else is profit.

Belt Scale Operations

Prove it on your busiest conveyor

A free 30-day pilot on your most-used belt — we lend you the system for a month at no cost. If we don't find wasted hours — walk away.

Kill ghost running

Automatic empty-belt detection and energy savings from day one.

Protect measurement accuracy

Continuous calibration checks without site visits — know when accuracy drifts, not after it's too late.

Extend belt life

Fewer empty running hours, less wear. Your €38,000 belt replacement should come on schedule, not 14 months early.
